3. THE FREED MEMBERSHIP
The FREED Community is a paid membership designed to provide information, resources, encouragement and community support for home educating families.
Membership may include access to features such as:
the FREED Community
the FREED Q&A Library
member-only resources
ebooks and downloadable materials
courses and educational content
workshops and Q&A sessions
local connections and community features
other resources and benefits introduced as FREED develops
The exact content and features available may change as FREED grows. We may add, improve, replace or remove individual resources or features where reasonably necessary.
Membership does not guarantee that any particular resource, course, feature or event will remain available indefinitely unless we have expressly stated otherwise.
4. MEMBERSHIP FEES AND PAYMENT
The FREED Community is currently offered at a monthly membership fee.
Founding Members who join at the Founder price of £7 per month will retain that price for as long as their membership remains continuously active.
Membership fees are charged monthly using the payment method provided when you join.
Your membership will automatically renew each month until cancelled.
You are responsible for ensuring that your payment information remains accurate and up to date.
If a payment cannot be collected, access to paid membership areas or resources may be suspended or cancelled.
5. CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP
You may cancel your FREED membership at any time.
To avoid being charged for the next billing period, you must cancel your membership before your next scheduled payment date.
For ordinary membership cancellations outside any applicable statutory cancellation period, your membership will remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for. You will not be charged again unless you choose to rejoin.
If you later rejoin FREED, any previous Founder price or promotional price may no longer be available.
6. REFUNDS
You may cancel your FREED membership at any time. Cancellation will prevent future monthly membership payments from being taken.
When you purchase a membership online, you may also have statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law, including a 14-day cancellation period where applicable.
If you ask for your membership services to begin during this cancellation period and then exercise a statutory right to cancel, we may be entitled to charge a proportionate amount for services already provided, where permitted by law.
Certain digital content supplied immediately may be subject to different cancellation rules where you have expressly agreed to immediate access and acknowledged the effect this has on your cancellation rights.
Outside any applicable statutory cancellation or refund rights, membership fees already paid are generally non-refundable. Cancelling your membership will prevent the next scheduled payment from being taken.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. DIGITAL CONTENT AND RESOURCES
FREED may provide members with access to digital content including ebooks, guides, courses, downloads, workshops, Q&A resources and other educational materials.
Some resources may be included as part of your membership, while others may be offered separately or at a discounted price for members.
Unless otherwise stated, purchasing or accessing FREED content gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use that content for your own or your family's personal use.
Access to particular membership resources may change over time as FREED develops. We may add, update, replace or remove resources where reasonably necessary.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, the content provided by FREED, including written materials, ebooks, guides, courses, graphics, downloads, branding and other original resources, belongs to FREED or is used with permission.
FREED content is provided for your personal use only.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, share or commercially exploit FREED content without prior written permission.
This includes sharing paid resources, downloads, course materials or membership-only content with people who are not entitled to access them.
You are welcome to discuss what you have learned and recommend FREED to other families, but the original materials themselves must not be copied or redistributed.
9. COMMUNITY USE AND CONDUCT
The FREED Community is intended to be a supportive and respectful space for home educating families.
Members are expected to communicate respectfully with other members and contribute in a way that supports the purpose of the community.
We reserve the right to moderate or remove content, and where reasonably necessary suspend or terminate a member's access, if behaviour includes harassment, abuse, discrimination, threatening behaviour, spam, deliberate disruption or other conduct that we reasonably consider harmful to the community or its members.
Members must not use the FREED Community to promote or sell their own products, services or businesses without prior permission.
Where possible and appropriate, we may contact a member about a concern before removing access. However, serious behaviour may result in immediate action.
10. INFORMATION SHARED BY MEMBERS
Members may choose to contribute comments, recommendations, questions, local group information, activity suggestions and other content within the FREED Community.
You remain responsible for the information you choose to share.
Please do not post personal or sensitive information about yourself, your children or other people that you would not want other community members to see.
Information, recommendations and opinions shared by individual members are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of FREED.
FREED cannot guarantee the accuracy of information supplied by other community members.
11. EDUCATIONAL AND GENERAL INFORMATION
FREED provides information, resources and community support relating to home education.
We aim to provide information that is accurate and useful at the time it is published. However, information relating to home education, legislation, local authority procedures, qualifications and other matters may change over time.
FREED content is provided for general information and educational purposes and should not be considered legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.
Where appropriate, you should check current official guidance or seek professional advice relating to your individual circumstances.
You remain responsible for decisions relating to your child's education and for ensuring that you comply with any legal requirements that apply to your circumstances.
12. THIRD-PARTY LINKS, SERVICES AND RECOMMENDATIONS
FREED may occasionally provide links to, information about or recommendations for third-party websites, organisations, resources, activities, products or services.
These are provided for convenience and information and do not necessarily mean that FREED controls or is responsible for those third parties.
We are not responsible for the content, availability, policies, actions or services of third-party providers.
Where FREED has a commercial, affiliate or other financial relationship connected with a recommendation, we will make this clear where required.
13. AVAILABILITY OF FREED
We aim to keep FREED and its membership services available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
From time to time, access may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, updates or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may also make reasonable changes to the structure, features, resources or delivery of FREED as the service develops.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
To the extent permitted by law, FREED is not responsible for losses resulting from reliance on general information provided through FREED where members have not sought appropriate advice for their individual circumstances.
We are also not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control or by the actions, information or services of third parties.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
We may suspend or terminate access to the FREED Community where a member seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms & Conditions, misuses FREED content or behaves in a way that causes harm or significant disruption to the community.
Where reasonably appropriate, we will attempt to contact you before taking this action.
Termination of membership does not give permission to continue accessing, copying or distributing FREED membership content.
16. CHANGES TO MEMBERSHIP AND THESE TERMS
FREED will continue to develop and we may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Where a change materially affects an existing paid membership, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.
The latest version of these Terms & Conditions will be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
The updated Terms & Conditions will apply from the date stated when they are published, subject to your statutory rights and any notice requirements that apply.
17. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute relating to these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any rights you may have as a consumer to bring proceedings elsewhere within the United Kingdom.
